Sat 12th Oct - Kelso 1st XV v Biggar - 3pm KO (5-29)
Kelso 5 Biggar 29 half time 0-12
The recently promoted Biggar came to town having made a good start to the season and were sitting well in the league. Kelso, with a few changes from last week, knew they needed to perform well at home and were well in the game being only 12 points down at the interval to 2 Biggar tries, one of which was converted.
Gareth Walker scored a Kelso try to reduce the leeway but the visitors scored another converted try to take the game to 19-5 with only 5 minutes to play.
At that point, there was total implosion in the Kelso side and after a difference of opinion amongst the players, the referee, John Shaw, sin binned Kevin Dryden and Frankie Robson. Gareth Clark quickly followed and the culmination was a red card to replacement Dwain Patterson for tackling his opponent whilst off the ground. In the meantime, Biggar scored another 2 tries to take the final score to 29-5. So Kelso finished the game with only 11 players.
To add to their problems. Cammy Brown was yellow carded after the final whistle.
Not a good day at the office for Kelso.
