A New Kelso-Scotland Player

A New Kelso-Scotland Player - Cameron "Cammy" Brown. We had a wee chat with his mother - Caroline... Cameron was eager to join Kelso minis in P3 having run about from P1 watching his brother training & playing. He had a very enjoyable first Ayr tour that year being looked after by the very capable Maria Waldie. He left rugby in primary 5 and for the next 2 years focused on tennis, where he represented south of Scotland & Judo where he picked up a couple of medals at national level. Rugby beckoned again at high school where he enjoyed playing for the school team & represented the Borders at U16 level, Moving onto the Quins at 16 where he formed a firm bond with a number of his teammates, a camaraderie that is still strong both on and off the field. Representing Borders & East Lothian at U18 level, then got the chance to represent Edinburgh & the South V Caledonia & The West where he performed well enough to be selected to the Scotland U18 squad where he is part of a team that enjoys phenomenal success at the inaugural U18 six nations festival in Wales, overcoming teams such as France, England, Ireland & Wales to emerge from the tournament as the only undefeated side. Age 17 sees Cameron play his first game for the Kelso 1st XV and is now regularly in the starting line up, he has also recently represented the Borders & East Lothian at the super 4’s in Edinburgh where he performed well enough to be selected for the Scotland U19 squad with whom he is currently training and also an Edinburgh Rugby U20 squad V Glasgow Warriors U20 helping Edinburgh to convincingly claim the Junior 1872 cup with an astounding 62-28 win.
