We are excited to announce the appointment of our new Head Coach, Kris de Scossa, for season 2019-20. Tanzanian-born de Scossa brings a wealth of experience to Kelso RFC. After moving to England, he shone at England U21, U19, and U16 levels. He went on to play senior rugby for Somerset, the South West of England, Old Redcliffians and Bath Rugby, finishing his playing career in 1998. Kris has coached professionally at Elite level within England, Australia, Italy and Canada, as well as coaching with top clubs in Sydney, Rome, Vancouver and England. Coaching the sevens game, he has excelled in European championships, the World Series, assisted Glen Ella with Australia and coached with Canada in Las Vegas, San Diego and Vancouver. The last twelve years has seen de Scossa coaching in Alberta and British Colombia, Canada, where he had great success with three clubs. His philosophy of “Many Teams ~ One Club” took Burnaby Lake RFC from the bottom of the National Premier League to one of the best performing clubs in North America. He won the Premier League three years in a row and made the club the ‘go to’ destination for players wanting to achieve the highest standards and play great rugby in a great culture. Alongside this, he has returned to Europe to conduct elite specialist sessions in the English Premiership. Most recently, Kris has been the Coaching Coordinator and Technical Advisor at Old Redcliffians RFC. We look forward to working with Kris as we seek to develop our players and coaches at all levels of the club.
