Kelso Rugby Football Club are saddened to learn of the passing of former player and Club Captain Clive Millar.
Clive spent his early rugby days at Watsonians both for school and club. In the 1988/89 season he joined Kelso and was part of the team that won the Scottish League Championship for the second year in a row in the same season. He went on to Captain the Club in season 1991/92 when they won the Division 2 Championship. Clive played over 160 times for the Club as well as playing representative rugby for both Edinburgh and The South.
Clive was also a great exponent of the abbreviated game and was part of the Kelso 7 who won the 1989 Melrose 7’s. His contribution of 2 tries in the final against Ayr being a highlight which is still discussed at gatherings in the clubrooms. He was also part of the Kelso 7 who won the Kings of the Sevens three years in a row in 1996, 97 and 98. His 7’s prowess was acknowledged with invitations to play for both the Saltires and the Co-optomists.
Kelso Rugby Club extends its sincere condolences to his wife Hazel, daughters Holly and Brogan and son Cameron, and all Clive’s immediate family and many friends.
